Grace brings to her work a terrific blend of academic knowledge, intuitive insight, empathy, humor, and powerful healing tools.  She is both professional and approachable.  I sought Grace's help on an individual basis to address issues of pain and limitation in range of motion.  Grace spent time thoroughly assessing my issues, gathering a history that included not just the injury and pain problems, but also how these effected other areas in my life.  She then gently assessed my physical problems by carefully studying and evaluating body movements and posture.   From here she crafted a movement and yoga plan tailored to my specific needs, adapting exercises to accommodate my limitations.  She worked with me over time, continually adapting a practice for me to meet my changing needs as my conditions improved.  Her kindness and compassion created an environment for safely pushing through physical discomfort as well as addressing and exploring some of the emotional upset and dis-ease that comes from coping with chronic pain.  Grace brings to her practice a unique and powerful blend of advanced training in both clinical psychology and Viniyoga Therapy.  She is an ethical, compassionate, and accomplished healer and I would recommend her services highly.

As an active person, I have long enjoyed hiking, backpacking, gardening, cross-country skiing and river kayaking. I also have practiced hatha yoga for two decades. Unfortunately, my active life came to an abrupt end two and a half years ago when I fell and injured my right shoulder. I underwent surgery and two years of physical therapy, but my shoulder remained weak and painful. I felt discouraged. Finally a physical therapist who heard me say how much I missed my yoga practice referred me to Dr. Grace Bullock. Grace coached me with the Mind-Body therapeutic approach, where she tailored gentle Viniyoga exercises to my particular needs. The exercises are easy to do at home. I was encouraged when I started seeing small improvements right away. Soon I quit all other PT and concentrated on Viniyoga. With practice, I steadily regained strength and flexibility — not only in my shoulder, but also in my core-body muscles. After six months I was overjoyed last weekend to be able to paddle my inflatable kayak down an easy stretch of river, with no pain. It’s wonderful to return to one of my favorite activities, and I look forward to cross-country skiing this winter. I thank Grace and her Mind-Body Therapy for helping restore my strength and flexibility, so I can put the fun back in my life!

Grace compassionately and professionally blends her background as a research psychologist who has investigated, designed, and implemented effective and respectful family interventions, with her knowledge, wisdom, and talents as a yoga therapist, to work holistically with clients while honoring their sacred path and their individual process.

Grace's classes are an essential part of my yoga practice. Her humor and genuineness as a person perfectly compliment her depth and expertise as a teacher.

I have been taking Grace Bullock’s yoga classes for more than two years, and can’t say enough good things about Grace and her work.  I try to maintain a very energetic life style, but now that I am in my mid-sixties, remaining active requires some special care.  Grace’s yoga classes have helped me retain, and actually improve, my flexibility and balance, and have helped enable me to continue to do very well in my running, cycling and weight workouts.  Grace has a unique ability to tailor each class to the needs of people in that day’s class, either through requests from the class or, more often, what she spots as the class starts.  Also, while she can make her classes very challenging (if that is what the class wants that day),  her classes never include anything that could cause injury.   Most important, Grace is one of the kindest, empathetic and intuitive people I have ever met.  I enthusiastically recommend Grace’s yoga classes and yoga therapy to anyone who wants to maintain or regain an active life style.

I love to golf but have experienced some low back pain and discomfort as a result. This made it difficult to play at times. In addition, I am 55 and my flexibility is not what it was when I was younger. I tried several different options in an attempt to rid myself of the pain but little worked. I was referred to Dr. Bullock as a Yoga Therapist. She developed a plan for me that focused on my problem areas, including flexibility issues. She also worked hands on with me in order to ensure I had a full understanding of how to implement the plan once on my own. I employed her services for approx. 6 months. However, my issues resolved within a month of initiating the therapy. I would highly recommend her to anyone who has any pain and flexibility issues in need of remedy.

Grace encourages a balanced, blended yoga experience -- physical challenge and release, quiet space to seek what you're seeking that day, a sense of community, and a steady dose of humor and lightness.  For about a year, Grace's class was one of the keys to my healing from a series of significant personal setbacks.  The motions, the music, and her chants helped me rebuild from the inside out, one breath at a time.

I have been practicing yoga with Grace for 2+ years, and always look forward to her classes.  She offers a gentle yet challenging practice, always mindful of our being safe in our postures.  As we flow through the postures, adaptations are always explained, and modifications encouraged, if needed.  She is very observant of the individuals in the class, and easily shifts her instruction if she perceives some of us need, for example, more hip flexor or low back stretches. If we are rehabilitating from an injury, she is knowledgeable of what we may need. With her therapeutic background, she knows what will help! She is both patient and encouraging with a warm sense of humor. Her background music is both gorgeous and varied, and if we are lucky enough to hear her chant, it is stunningly beautiful!

Grace's classes are clarifying, reflective hours, and she is the most supportive, personally engaged teacher. I feel as if I've come closer to understanding why yoga can be a multi-layered force in our lives through practicing with Grace.

Grace ... has captured the essence of what I want my yoga practice to be.  When I participate in one of Grace's therapeutic yoga classes, I am absolutely happy and stress free.  She encourages her students to breathe deeply and rhythmically as she teaches various moves.  I applaud her competence, clear eye, and knowledge of the human body.
